Roll 276 - My first film roll with the Zorki 4
Two things became apparent. Firstly the camera has a light leak - it was designed with metal U channel seals and doesn't use felt or foam. I need to find a way of fixing this light leak. Secondly, composing was interesting as I used a 35 mm lens, and the viewfinder is for a 50 mm lens. No frame lines! I may have to get a turret finder!
Camera: Zorki 4
Lens: Jupiter 12 (35 mm)
Film: Ilford Delta 100
Developer: Ilfotec LC-29 1+29 - 7.5 minutes
Agitation: Four inversions at the start, then four inversions every minute
Digitised: Nikon Z6 and Capture One software
This is what happens when you don't take off the lens cap.
Note there is a slight light leak along the bottom edge. It was a lot worse in some of the other photos.

Working out the field of view - part 1.
The viewfinder is for a 50 mm lens, and I used a Jupiter 35 mm lens. There are no frame lines in the viewfinder!
I framed this shot with a pylon on the left-hand side of the viewfinder. The 35 mm lens should have a wider field of view than the 50 mm viewfinder. But, the pylon is not even in the photo!35mmfilmanalogfilmforeverishootfilmbelieveinfilmfilmphotographyblackandwhitebnwbwblackandwhitephotographybnwphotographymonochromemonochromephotographyilfordilford filmdelta100
Working out the field of view - part 2.
I framed this shot with a pylon on the right-hand edge of the viewfinder. This time the position was more like what I was expecting.

This was shot at f4. Borderline sharp. Larger apertures will be soft - see next photo.
Note the light leak from the bottom edge.

A village street.
And the light leak is there again. This time on the right-hand side because of the portrait orientation.

Flare test
I kept the sun out of the frame (top left)—lens flare from the reflection in the water and the bench armrest.
The light leak is there again (bottom edge).35mmfilmanalogfilmforeverishootfilmbelieveinfilmfilmphotographyblackandwhitebnwbwblackandwhitephotographybnwphotographymonochromemonochromephotographyilfordilford filmdelta100
Shot straight into the sun.
I like this. The lens held up well.
