This loop trail, laid out by Turismo Activo Juzcar, takes you to several historical and geographic interest sites. In just a few kilometres, you see old flour mills, a section of Roman road, a 16th-century Arab bridge, and the source of the Rio Zúas.

An old water mill outside Júzcar
The mill complex includes the remains of water-driven mills as well as an animal-powered mill (molino de sangre). Water from the river was diverted to flow through the mills. Originally there were four openings for the water to pass through, but today only two survive. You can still see the shafts inside.

The source of the river "Las Zuas”
The source of the Río "Las Zuas", named after the Arab settlers who called it "Azud", you can see the water bubbling up in a clear pool. There is an average flow of around 623 litres of water per minute from this spring. The water temperature is a constant temperature of 16.5 degrees. The amount of water that emerges from the ground remains steady all year. The river Zuas is the main contributor to the Rio Genal in times of scarce rainfall.

Júzcar - the smurf village
Júzcar's claim to fame is that the Smurf films were filmed here. All 175 houses, the church, town hall and even the cemetery were painted blue. After the filming was complete in 2011, there was a referendum on whether to paint the town white again or to continue in blue. The second option won by a large majority (141 votes in favour to only 33 against). Hence the village remains blue to this day.

The village was known as the Smurf Village. However, in 2017, when no agreement was reached with the family that owns the copyright of the famous characters, Júzcar was forced to withdraw all terminology referring to the Smurfs.
